Héctor "Tony" Ocasio, an original member of the youth group Los Chicos, died Tuesday, December 23 in Orlando, Florida, from a heart attack at age 58. The singer, who helped launch Chayanne's career, was known for his charisma and stage presence. Los Chicos became one of the most successful groups of the 1980s in Latin America, performing in Puerto Rico, Central and South America.
The group formed in Puerto Rico and included members such as Rey Díaz, José Miguel "Migue" Santa and Chayanne. Ocasio lived in Orlando, and his death shocked fans of Latin music.
Chayanne expressed his grief on social media, posting two photos of moments they shared on stage. “So many rehearsals, so many anecdotes. Your memory stays forever.”
