ICE Agent Deployment in U.S. Airports and Criticism for Excessive Force

The Democratic opposition has questioned these actions due to the 'excessive use of force' by agents who carried out anti-immigration raids in Minneapolis, where two U.S. citizens were shot dead by ICE agents. Negotiations to break the budget deadlock include specific conditions: agents must not act undercover, must fully identify themselves, and must not conduct raids or enter homes without a judicial warrant. Journalist Jesús Esquivel reported the deployment of immigration agents in 14 U.S. airports to assist with security checks, following the partial paralysis of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) due to the lack of an approved budget. However, the journalist emphasized that the strategy has not had the expected effect. Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate confirmed Markwayne Mullin as the next head of the Department of Homeland Security with 55 votes in favor and 45 against. He has promised changes to anti-immigration operations.
