Hollywood stars and musicians have sharply criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Trump administration following recent deadly incidents in Minneapolis. The killings, where ICE agents used lethal force, have sparked widespread outrage across the nation.
Olivia Rodrigo has refused to stay silent about ICE, repeatedly denouncing the organization and the Trump government. "And since these killers are part of an agency authorized by the government, I will say this and don't bother getting mad: Fuck TRUMP too," she stated.
Glenn Close, Steve Kerr, Pedro Pascal, and many other celebrities have joined the condemnation. Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors, called the situation in the country "incredibly frightening and disappointing." Pascal shared an infographic listing the nine people ICE has killed so far in 2026.
Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, and Brittney Griner have called for immediate action. Griner, who spent 10 months in a Russian prison, called the Trump administration's migrant policies "a crime against humanity." Perry provided instructions for fans to contact their senators to defund ICE.
In Minneapolis, where the tragedies occurred, athletes also showed their solidarity. WNBA two-time MVP Breanna Stewart held up a hand-written sign reading "ABOLISH ICE." Baseball pitcher Spencer Strider posted an image of the 1770 Boston Massacre, comparing ICE's actions to those of British soldiers against colonists.
"ICE terrorizes our cities," said Justin Pierre, lead singer of Motion City Soundtrack. Pierre highlighted his band's long history of singing about corruption, injustice, and war, stating they cannot remain silent. Stars are calling for unity and immediate action to end ICE's brutality and protect democracy.
