Robbery Incidents Involving Kansas City Chiefs Players

The FBI is investigating the robberies that occurred at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, who were victims of assaults at their respective residences within a period of less than 24 hours in early October. Mahomes' statement reflects his frustration and disillusionment with the situation. In Kelce's case, a loss of $20,000 in cash was reported, along with property damage, including a back door of his home in the exclusive suburb of Leawood. The report of this incident was made the day after the Chiefs' game, in which Kelce had the support of his girlfriend, singer Taylor Swift, from the stands.

Authorities are keeping both players’ names confidential in police reports, and the Leawood Police Department preferred not to comment on specific victims of such crimes. The spokesperson for the Johnson County District Attorney's office, Melody Webb, also noted that, being an active case, no further statements will be issued. Although not all details were revealed due to the ongoing investigation, the community hopes that those responsible will be identified and brought to justice.

This case has generated interest due to the public profile of the victims and the considerable reported damages. Fans are closely following the progress of this investigation. According to police reports, the robbery at Mahomes' residence was reported early on October 6, while Kelce's house was robbed on the night of the 7th. Specific details regarding what was stolen have not been disclosed. Mahomes mentioned before a training session that it is frustrating and disappointing to have to face such a situation, reflecting the players' discomfort with the violation of their privacy and security in their own homes.
