NASA's Launch Marks New Era in Space Exploration

Three months after its launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Artemis I mission is nearing completion. During this time, it successfully passed a series of checks and tests.

As part of the mission, integrated systems of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft were tested. The main goal of the mission, as stated by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is to send an uncrewed Orion capsule around the Moon.

Artemis I has become the first step of NASA's Artemis space program. According to agency plans, Artemis II is expected to carry a crew, while Artemis III is supposed to bring humans to the lunar surface.

Referring to the successes of the conducted tests, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson emphasized: "We are eagerly awaiting the completion of this uncrewed and successful mission, as this is just the beginning of the exciting journey to returning humans to the surface of the Moon and sending them to Mars."
