Peruvian banking giant Credicorp, via its BCP subsidiary, is acquiring U.S.-based Helm Bank USA for $180 million. The deal aims to expand services for Latin Americans in the U.S. and awaits regulatory approval.


Credicorp to Acquire Helm Bank USA

Credicorp Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Helm Bank USA for US$180 million, a subject to customary adjustments at closing. Helm Bank USA is a community bank licensed to operate in the state of Florida, United States. As of September 30, 2025, Helm Bank USA reported US$1,141.8 million in assets and US$106.8 million in equity, according to information disclosed by Credicorp. “This acquisition allows us to deepen our ability to serve Latin Americans whose financial lives span both their countries of origin and the United States,” said Gianfranco Ferrari, CEO of Credicorp, referring to the operation. The closing of the transaction is subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions, including applicable regulatory approvals in the United States and Peru.
