On Monday, a Delta Airlines aircraft returned to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after the cabin filled with smoke due to an unknown cause. In a briefing, the Federal Aviation Administration reported that the crew of flight number 876 noted the presence of smoke in the cabin during the flight over the state of Columbia, South Carolina. This forced the plane to return and make an emergency landing at the airport about 30 minutes after takeoff, Fox News reports. Video taken by one of the passengers showed the filled cabin, appearing smoky, while other footage showed passengers using emergency exits to escape. "We really smelled smoke in the air. I saw smoke. Many people were worried," wrote one of the passengers on social media. The plane was carrying 94 passengers and five crew members.
