The technical director of Inter Miami, Gerardo Martino, expressed his opinion on the roster of the American team that will participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which will feature a new format. The team qualified for this edition by being the host country and by winning the Supporter's Shield of the MLS, an award given to the team with the most points in the regular season across both conferences of the American league.
Martino praised the performance of his team, The Herons, who accumulated 74 points and took home the trophy. However, he questioned the decision not to wait to know the league champion before granting a spot in the Club World Cup. Nevertheless, he highlighted the achievement of Inter Miami, a club that is only a few years old.
Inter Miami is preparing for its debut in the round of 16 of the 2024 MLS playoffs, facing Atlanta United at Chase Stadium this Friday at 21:30 (Argentina time). On the other hand, the 2025 Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13 of that year, featuring the participation of 32 teams and a total of 63 matches to be held in 12 different venues.
