The New York Yankees dominated the postseason with a record of 33-8. After helping the Bulls to their three championships in the 90s, coach Phil Jackson did the same when he joined a talented Los Angeles Lakers team led by O’Neal and Bryant, who had underperformed before his arrival.

The Lakers needed an epic comeback in Game 7 against Portland in the 2000 Western Conference Finals on their way to the first title. They finished 15-1 in the postseason to repeat the following year and then had to pull off another win in Game 7 of the conference finals in 2002 against Sacramento before completing the three-peat.

The Swingin' A’s of Charlie Finley dominated baseball in the early 70s with a roster full of big personalities. Led by batter Reggie Jackson, dominant pitchers Catfish Hunter and Vida Blue, the A’s defeated the Reds, Mets, and Dodgers in consecutive seasons to join the New York Yankees as the only franchises to win three consecutive titles.

Montreal dominated the NHL for decades with 23 Stanley Cups. Most of them came in the Original Six era before expansion, but the Canadiens had an impressive run in the late 70s under coach Scotty Bowman.

As soon as the Canadiens' dynasty ended, the New York Islanders began their own as the last hockey team to win at least three consecutive titles. The Al Arbour-led team was powered by scoring winger Mike Bossy, defenseman Denis Potvin, and goaltender Billy Smith.

After falling short in consecutive seasons against the Detroit Pistons, Michael Jordan and the Bulls fought their way to the NBA Finals in 1991 by defeating Magic Johnson and the Lakers in five games. They repeated as champions in 1992 and 1993 for the first NBA three-peat since Boston won eight consecutive titles from 1959-66.

The Yankees have had several dynasty runs in their history, winning four consecutive World Series from 1936-39 and then five straight from 1949-53. They are the only team to win three consecutive World Series in the free agency era. Led by homegrown stars like Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, and Bernie Williams, Joe Torre's team won the franchise's first title in 18 years in 1996. They then won three straight starting with a record 114 wins in 1998.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs achieved an unprecedented feat: returning to the NFL championship game after winning the American Football Conference (AFC) Championship, earning their spot in the Super Bowl. What follows is the possibility of an unusual NFL three-peat, a feat no team in the four major leagues in the United States has accomplished in over 20 years.
