US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, expressed her satisfaction with the support she received from artists like Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez. Harris emphasized the support received before racist comments about Puerto Rico made at a Donald Trump rally.

"I am very proud to have the support of people like Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and others who backed me before that nonsense last night at Madison Square Garden," Harris stated during a brief media statement upon her arrival in Michigan.

Last Sunday, during a rally in New York, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, a warm-up act for Donald Trump, referred to Puerto Rico as a "floating trash island," sparking a wave of negative reactions towards Trump and support for Harris's proposals, also backed by artists like Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, or René Pérez (Residente).

Harris pointed out that she has received support from individuals seeking a presidency that elevates citizenship rather than belittles it, a difference she exemplified with President Trump's words referring to the United States as "the trash can" of the world at previous events.

Announcing her plan for Puerto Rico in Philadelphia, in the Fairhill neighborhood, known as 'El Centro de Oro' of the Boricua community, Harris detailed the creation of a task force for Puerto Rico's opportunities. This group will include participation from the federal government, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and community leaders aimed at boosting economic growth and creating well-paying jobs on the island, especially for youth.
