The United States Federal Reserve Board took disciplinary action against several of its employees due to accusations of sexual harassment. According to an international report, 11 complaints were filed regarding incidents that occurred between 2020 and 2023. Four employees were fired, while nine others received some form of discipline for their conduct.
The news agency Reuters had access to a legal report on the case, which was not taken to trial by the alleged victims, who chose to file formal complaints with the Federal Reserve. Nevertheless, federal laws against discrimination require institutions to disclose these cases.
Between 2020 and 2023, the Board issued final warnings to four employees for sexual harassment and fired another four for the same reason, as well as for other workplace issues. Three additional sexual harassment complaints were revealed, although in two cases no action was taken after determining that one accusation was unfounded and the other was directed at an individual not associated with Federal Reserve staff.
