Antonio Romero Monge, member of the duo 'Los del Río' and creator of the song 'Macarena', lamented this Friday that his music was used by the White House, the seat of the presidency of the United States, in a video distributed on social networks with images of the bombings of Iran. In statements to Canal Sur Televisión, Romero Monge, who forms 'Los del Río' alongside Rafael Ruiz, said about his most famous song that 'people can make it their own as they please,' but that he composed it 'to bring joy to the world, for everyone to be happy.' The singer, who has assured that 33 years after its creation 'Macarena' is still 'the most popular song in the world,' joked about the possibility that, after its use by the White House, 'they will make it fashionable in funeral homes.' Without humor, he added that upon seeing the video distributed by the White House of the bombings of Iranian facilities accompanied by the music of his 'Macarena,' he got 'goosebumps' and wondered 'why they have to use something so nice for that.'
