Bill Clinton Says He Knew Nothing of Epstein's Crimes

Former US President Bill Clinton assured this Friday that he knew nothing about the crimes of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and that he did not do «anything wrong», according to his initial statement before a Congressional committee that is questioning him about his relationship with the late financier.

Clinton began his testimony this Friday before a Congressional committee a day after his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, did the same. Republican members of the committee had previously stated before the testimony began that they have a large number of questions prepared for the former president, given that Hillary Clinton said on Thursday that she did not know Epstein and that it was her husband who could give them the information they are requesting.

The hearing is taking place in Chappaqua, New York, where the Clintons have their usual residence and is being held behind closed doors, although it is expected that the videos will be made public soon.

Hillary Clinton's Testimony This is the first time that Congress has forced a former president to testify in a legislative investigation under the threat of holding them in contempt, after the Clintons refused to appear, considering that the process had political motivations.

In fact, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer, stated that he expects to release the video of Hillary Clinton's testimony in the panel's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein within 24 hours.

«Nobody is accusing anybody of any wrongdoing, I think the American people have a lot of questions, and we are committed to getting answers,» Comer added.

He also referred to the dozen times Hillary Clinton stated in her testimony that «you'll have to ask my husband, I can't answer that».

«So we already had a long list of questions for him, and yesterday it got longer, so we're looking forward to it,» Comer concluded.

For her part, Republican Representative Nancy Mace, from South Carolina, stated to reporters this Friday that Hillary Clinton had acted «erratically» during her testimony.
