According to a poll, only 21% of Americans approve of the work done by Democrats during the first 12 months of Trump's second presidency, while 64% criticize it. Even among Democratic voters themselves, those dissatisfied with their party outnumber those who are satisfied: 50% to 41%.
Meanwhile, another poll published in Latin America indicates that only 37% of Americans approve of Trump's management. Among his supporters in the 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) movement, the approval rating stands at 93%. However, when considering only conservatives who are not part of the MAGA base, the approval rate drops to 63%. Among independent voters, Trump has the approval of only 18%, while among Democrats it falls to 6%.
Closing the border with Mexico, the capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, and the actions of immigration agents on the country's streets are the actions of Trump that generate the most applause among Republicans. However, conservatives not identified with MAGA are critical of the management of the healthcare system and the cost of living. On the first issue, 43% of non-MAGA Republicans are disillusioned with Trump. Regarding the cost of living, the dissatisfaction rate rises to 53%.
This group of conservatives also distances itself from Trump regarding the handling of Epstein's documents and the threats of annexing Greenland.
"Toronto (Canada), Jan 22 (EFE). - A poll published this Thursday by one of Canada's leading polling firms indicates that only 37% of Americans approve of their president Donald Trump's management during the first year of his second term after winning the 2024 elections. The Angus Reid Institute poll shows that 56% of Americans disapprove of Trump's actions as head of the US government."
Only on two of the 17 topics included in the poll did Trump receive more applause than boos: the reduction of migrant arrivals at the border with Mexico and stock market returns. The issue that generates the most discontent among Americans is the cost of living, with 70% of respondents against it, followed by Jeffrey Epstein's documents, the cost of healthcare, and threats of annexing Greenland.
