US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the world is “more peaceful than a year ago,” adding that the war in Gaza “is coming to an end.” He made the announcement while launching the “Peace Council” in Davos, with Argentine President Javier Milei in attendance. “A lot of people are happy with what I’m doing. Today, the world is more peaceful than it was a year ago,” Trump said, who also stated in a speech obtained by the Argentine News Agency: “We captured (Nicolás) Maduro and the Venezuelans are happy.” The US president then said: “The war in Gaza is coming to an end, and we are controlling the situation in Iran.” “We worked very hard, a year ago the world was very bad,” he asserted, while also noting: “We are making significant progress with ISIS.” Donald Trump launched the “Peace Council” one day after his speech at the World Economic Forum, and the event was also attended by Milei, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The founding executive committee of the Peace Council is composed of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
