Trump Says U.S. Weighing 'Very Strong Options' Against Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his Administration is considering 'some very strong options' against Iran, including a possible military intervention. When asked by journalists aboard Air Force One if Iran had crossed a red line to provoke a response, Trump replied: 'They're starting to, it seems.' The Army is watching it, and we are weighing some very strong options. We are looking at it very seriously. We will make a decision,' the head of state indicated, according to a Xinhua report accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The president added that he is receiving 'hourly' information about the situation in Iran, while he is scheduled to be briefed on Tuesday about options to respond to the unrest in Iran, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing U.S. officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine will attend Tuesday's meeting, the outlet said, adding that Trump does not expect to make a final decision at that meeting, as deliberations are still in a preliminary stage. The Trump Administration's options would include boosting anti-government internet sources, deploying secret cyberweapons against Iranian military and civilian facilities, imposing more sanctions on the country and military attacks, as well as the possibility of sending Elon Musk's satellite internet service, Starlink terminals, to Iran, according to the information. The Pentagon has not mobilized forces to prepare for potential military attacks, adding that the United States will not only need to deploy assets to launch offensives but will also have to protect U.S. personnel in the region.
