Buenos Aires, Jan. 5 (NA) -- U.S. Vice President JD Vance confirmed this Monday that his home in the state of Ohio, in the Midwest of the country, was attacked, but clarified that he was not at the residence at the time of the incident. In April, the residence of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was set on fire. I thank the Secret Service and the Cincinnati Police for their quick response, Vance wrote on X. He also added: We were not home because we had already returned to Washington, DC. Secret Service agents arrested the suspect shortly after midnight, and officers identified the individual as 26-year-old William DeFoor, local media reported. The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents against U.S. political leaders in recent months. In September of last year, 31-year-old political activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated while giving a speech at the University of Utah. Two Minnesota lawmakers were shot in June. One of them died and the other was seriously injured. As far as I know, a crazy person tried to get in by hitting the windows with a hammer.
