Boeing Faces Delays in Delivering New Air Force One

The White House and the United States Air Force are in talks with Boeing to resolve the issues that have caused delays in the delivery of the new Air Force One. Although Boeing plans to deliver the aircraft in 2027, there is still no definitive guarantee that this will be fulfilled, as stated by the acting head of Air Force acquisitions, Darlene Costello.

During Trump's administration, $3.9 billion was allocated for this project, which aims to replace the current Boeing 747-8 used as presidential aircraft. The intention is to meet President Trump's demand for an upgraded airplane before the end of his second term.

To date, several technical issues have been identified that have generated delays in the program, from cockpit failures to problems with suppliers and damaged structures. The Air Force has been working closely with the government and the private sector to overcome these obstacles in order to meet the president's expectations.

Despite the challenges, Boeing has made progress in resolving the issues and has managed to reduce the expected delivery time by one or two years, as reported by Darlene Costello. Although the project is still ongoing, Trump could have the opportunity to fly in the new Air Force One before the end of his presidency. The priority is to fulfill this delivery so that the president can use the aircraft during his term.
