President of the United States Donald Trump stated to journalists at the White House on Tuesday that he does not plan to visit Israel at the end of his upcoming tour of the region, which includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
The White House did not confirm that Israel would be included in his next tour, but in diplomatic and internal discussions, it was loosely reported that he might expand his visit to include Israel, the U.S. ally.
Trump is set to start the tour in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE from May 13 to May 16, and this will be his first overseas trip in the second year of his presidency following a brief visit to Rome for the canonization of Pope Francis.
