American director Francis Ford Coppola expressed his joy yesterday regarding his nomination for the anti-premise "Razzie" in the category "Worst Director of the Year," sharply criticizing Hollywood for the lack of readiness for "risk." Coppola, a well-known recipient of several "Oscar" awards and the author of numerous successful films, invested 120 million dollars of his own funds in the creation of the film "Megalopolis," selling some of his vineyards in California. The film, which was presented to the public last year, elicited various opinions from critics: some considered it an "authentic work of art," while others called it a "disaster."
Coppola expressed regret that in the art world today "they evaluate it as if it were some professional contest," criticizing the fear of Hollywood, which, in his opinion, is an "industry afraid of risk, despite the large number of young talents."
It was also announced that Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga were awarded the worst on-screen couple for the film "Joker."
