Trump Critiques EU Amid Trade Tensions

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated to reporters that the European Union was formed with the purpose of bothering his country, claiming they have succeeded in that regard. However, he warned that now he is the president and will soon reveal the details of his latest tariff threat.

During the first cabinet meeting of his second term, Trump assured that the U.S. Administration has put the partnership between the United States and Europe in crisis by proposing to impose higher taxes on European products, arguing to equalize the tariffs applied to U.S. exports.

In response to Trump's claims, the European Commission pointed out that the European Union is the largest free market in the world and has been beneficial for the United States. A source from the European Commission warned that they will respond firmly and immediately to the new tariffs proposed by the U.S. Administration.

"We have made a decision and will announce it very soon," stated the representative of the European Union referring to the measures they will take against the tariff threats from the United States.
