The administration of President Donald Trump of the USA presented a proposal to amend the law on section 230, dubbed "to limit the liability of internet platforms for the content published by their users."
According to the plan, companies will be deprived of protection from liability for content that users post if the platforms choose to edit that content. This applies to both removals, as well as "presenting preferred" certain messages, comments, and posts on the internet.
"We attacked American companies for banning political content. Now we criticize them for spreading it," said Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, speaking at a press conference.
