The President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed his desire for Elon Musk, his current advisor, to be more aggressive in reducing federal government spending. On his Truth Social platform, Trump praised Musk's work but stated that he would like to see him act more decisively, arguing that it is necessary to "save the country."

Upon taking office, Trump appointed Musk to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with the goal of cutting public spending and combating corruption. During his brief time at DOGE, Musk has carried out thousands of layoffs of Federal State officials.

Meanwhile, the United States Department of Defense recently announced that it would reduce its workforce by 5% starting next week. However, these layoffs have generated controversies, as a judge rejected a union request to temporarily halt the job terminations, arguing that thousands of public employees would be affected by the measure.
