Massive ICE Raids Result in 736 Arrests

In a two-day operation from February 1-2, 2025, ICE executed 736 arrests of undocumented migrants involved in criminal activities. This crackdown follows new immigration policies under President Trump, aimed at addressing illegal immigration and deportation complications with Latin American governments.

Massive ICE Raids Result in 736 Arrests

The White House has reported on the results of actions against migrants in the first days of February. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out 736 arrests of illegal foreign nationals for committing crimes between February 1 and 2, 2025, as part of a stricter approach implemented under the administration of President Donald Trump.

These mass detentions carried out by ICE, which culminate in deportations, primarily target those migrants who have been processed for committing crimes or illegally entering the country. These harsher measures have generated complications with several Latin American governments upon receiving flights with detained migrants.

Among the individuals detained, the deportation of three persons of Mexican nationality was highlighted. One of them, whose name was not revealed, had been deported a decade ago and was recently arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. It was emphasized that those who commit crimes in their countries cannot hide in the U.S., and ICE will continue to work with agencies such as the U.S. Marshals Service to carry out detentions and deportations of migrants with criminal records.

Julio César García-Soto was arrested on January 31 and sentenced to 17 years in prison for murder, while Daniel De Jesús López was detained in Seattle and sentenced to 90 months in prison for methamphetamine trafficking. Robert Guadian, director of the ICE Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations in Denver, praised the agents' work for eliminating these threats to society.
