A United States Air Force plane flew over the Gulf of California, according to monitoring platforms like Flight Radar. The data shows that it is a Boeing RC135-V Rivet Joint. According to the United States Air Force, the plane has near-real-time intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination capabilities.

The first report of the flight emerged on social media; Aristegui Noticias monitored the aircraft's route on Flight Radar since 4:50 PM. The plane flew over the Gulf of California, right off the coasts of Sinaloa and Baja California Sur.

The aircraft, known as a spy plane, is equipped with a set of onboard sensors that allow the mission crew to detect, identify, and geolocate signals across the electromagnetic spectrum, according to the United States Air Force's website. Inside, the plane has capacity for more than 30 people, including cabin crew, electronic warfare officers, intelligence operators, and in-flight maintenance technicians.
