Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary in the administration of President Donald Trump, stated on her social media account that promises were being fulfilled. She shared photos of migrants being deported, handcuffed at their feet and hands as they boarded a plane. Leavitt, at 27 years old, recently debuted at the White House press podium, becoming the youngest press secretary in the history of the position. She appeared at the podium wearing a necklace with a shining gold cross.
Leavitt has been associated with Trump for years, working in his first administration and as a spokesperson for his presidential campaign. Trump described her as smart and tough, praising her effectiveness as a communicator. Originally from New Hampshire, she is known for her Catholic devotion and anti-abortion stance.
With experience at Fox News and in the White House press office, Leavitt has worked as a presidential speechwriter and deputy press secretary. Additionally, she served as communications director for Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. She later ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022, losing the general election.
During her campaign, she promoted political positions aligned with Trump's priorities, such as tax cuts and a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal immigration. Her goal as a spokesperson is to reshape the dialogue with the media in favor of the president.
Although she planned to take maternity leave, Leavitt decided not to do so after the assassination attempt against the former president in June in Pennsylvania, where he was injured. A graduate of Saint Anselm College, a Catholic university in New Hampshire, Leavitt has been dedicated to strongly promoting Trump’s policies with a firm and smiling demeanor in her new role at the White House.
