The new U.S. Secretary of State, Mark Rubio, will begin his tour of five Central American countries starting on Saturday.

The first stop is Costa Rica, where he will meet with senior officials of the country and discuss important collaboration issues. Later, he will visit several other countries in the region, including Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

The main goal of the secretary's visit will be to discuss issues of security, trade, migration, and collaboration in the fight against organized crime. Rubio is also expected to develop a strategy for strengthening friendly relations between the U.S. and Central American countries.

"We value our partners in the region and strive for deeper collaboration to ensure the safety and well-being of our peoples," he noted in one interview.
