Trump's Measures Against LGBTQ+ Rights

Shortly after assuming office, President Trump implemented measures detrimental to LGBTQ+ rights, including a ban on transgender military service and cutting funding for transgender youth healthcare.

Trump's Measures Against LGBTQ+ Rights

The elected president of the United States has taken measures that affect the rights of the LGBTQ+ movement, just days after taking office. In his inauguration speech, Trump emphasized that for his administration there are only two genders: male and female. In response to these statements, the artist and activist for LGBTQ+ rights expressed her concern on social media, pointing out the gradual loss of freedoms won over the years.

Madonna, an iconic singer, expressed her solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and urged her followers not to give up in the face of recent statements by President Donald Trump. In her message, she called for the continuation of the fight for equality and acquired rights.

The controversial measures adopted by Trump include the prohibition of transgender individuals from serving in the United States military and the cessation of financial support for sex change treatments for minors under 19 years old. According to the government, physical and mental ability for military service is a fundamental requirement, and they believe that transgender individuals do not meet the required standards. Additionally, funding for transition procedures for minors has been ordered to be suspended, arguing that the federal government should not support or promote such interventions in individuals under the age of 19.

In light of these decisions, the call to not abandon the fight for rights and equality has intensified, with prominent figures like Madonna joining the defense of the LGBTQ+ community and their achievements.
