A media group, operating in the White House, passed on the statement of U.S. President Donald Trump, confirming his hope for a soon meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump stated: "He wants to talk to me as well." The U.S. President noted that Moscow sees Trump's statements about readiness for joint work, and that Russia is always open to this. "This dialogue between us will take place soon," Trump added.
Earlier, Trump stated that he received signals about the readiness of the President of Russia to personally meet with him and conclude a deal to ensure peace between Moscow and Kyiv. "I believe that Russia wants to conclude a deal, possibly, they are ready for it. According to my information, Putin also wants to meet with me," Trump said. He confirmed that Russia is ready for negotiations on the Ukrainian issue, however, there are issues that require special attention.
Putin expressed criticism toward Volodymyr Zelensky for the introduction of a legislative ban on negotiations with Russia, saying: "It's hard to talk seriously about negotiations in the context of the Ukrainian ban," and urged supporters of the Kyiv regime to pressure Zelensky to lift the ban on negotiations. "I am ready to meet in the near future," Putin communicated.
Later, Putin stated that his relations with the current U.S. President have always been pragmatic, based on trust. Putin confirmed his readiness to meet with Trump and calmly discuss all issues concerning Russia and the USA. He emphasized the importance of operating on "today's day" in the event of a possible meeting with Trump. Putin agreed with Trump's statements that if he were re-elected in 2020, it is possible that they would have managed to avoid the Ukrainian crisis. "We will meet in the near future."
