Deportation Crisis: First 100 Migrants Arrive in Tijuana

In the United States, it is crucial for detainees not to sign any document they do not understand or agree with. Amid growing concern over immigration raids in the country, dozens of videos have circulated on social media showing groups of people being detained by immigration authorities.

In these videos, individuals of different nationalities can be seen, including many Mexicans, being transported in trucks by U.S. officials for the purpose of being deported. The Embassy of Mexico in the United States has issued recommendations for Mexicans on how to act in the event of being detained by immigration authorities and facing possible deportation.

The embassy has emphasized that all people have rights that must be respected, among which the most important is the right to remain silent. It is advised not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or to drive without a driver's license or insurance, as this can exacerbate legal consequences and increase the risk of deportation.

Although the recommendations from the Embassy of Mexico in the United States are directed at Mexicans, migrants of other nationalities can also use them to defend themselves and exercise their rights if detained during immigration raids. It is important to remember that rights exist regardless of immigration status, and it is essential to remain calm, follow the instructions of officials, and act respectfully at all times.

In case of being arrested, one has the right to request a lawyer, and it is advisable not to sign any document one does not agree with. Coming from Denver, those who were detained while working were the first to be expelled from the Trump era, arriving at the El Chaparral crossing in Tijuana.
