U.S. President Joe Biden presented preliminary commendations to General Mark Milley and Dr. Anthony Fauci on Monday.
General Mark Milley, who was introduced in the capacity of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the President's chief medical advisor and former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, were two out of nine people that Biden commended.
"In the privilege of commending General Mark Milley, who has served in the Armed Forces for over 40 years, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has clearly and consistently informed Americans about the possibilities of combating COVID-19, our hopes for a fair and productive future are encapsulated," the administration's statement said.
