An American woman from North Dakota has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after being convicted of assaulting her friend with a blunt object, believing that he would inherit a legacy worth 30 million dollars. The assailant, Ina Kinyour, 48, will spend 25 years in prison and is subject to a remaining 25-year parole.
The victim, 21-year-old Steven Railey Jr., was the one attacked by Ina Kinyour. It later became clear that the couple, who were subjected to this heinous act, may have been the victims of an internet scam and there was no actual inheritance awaiting them.
"I stole the baby from his mother," Kinyour described, and thus referred to the victim's sister, Stephanie Gonzalez, while scamming Kinyour. Commenting on the prison sentence, Gonzalez pointed out that the assailant may have stolen more than just a human life and that the victim was part of the many families and friends.
Investigators confirmed that Ina Kinyour had been diagnosed with a mental illness before her death on the fifth of September. This came after the couple contacted a specialist in real estate on the third of September, and Railey's condition deteriorated on the same day before he uttered his last breath after two days.
