American singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes has reflected on his sexual orientation during a concert in Colorado. At the 'Red Rock' amphitheater with a capacity of over nine thousand people, Mendes addressed the rumors surrounding him directly and shared: 'The truth about my life and my sexuality is that, like everyone else, I am discovering what it is.'
Mendes expressed: 'Sexuality is a very complex and beautiful thing, and it is very difficult to put it in boxes. It has always seemed to me an intrusion into something very personal, something I was trying to discover within myself, and that I am still discovering.' The singer, who has previously been in relationships with Camila Cabello and Sabrina Carpenter, added: 'I am trying to be brave and allow myself to be human and feel things. And that’s all I will say about the subject for now.'
The artist mentioned that he feels fear in addressing this topic in a society that has much to say about it, sharing his experience in an attempt to be authentic and honest with himself. Mendes admitted that sometimes he does not know how to define his sexual orientation and that he is in a constant process of discovery.
