Andrew Cross, also known as Desert Drifter, passed away on March 4 after spending about five weeks in intensive care following a serious car accident on January 31. The 36-year-old American YouTuber fought for his life after the accident, until March 2, when the decision was made to disconnect him from life support.

Cross's sister, Jenna Spooner, confirmed his passing through Caring Bridge, a platform where updates about the creator's health had been shared and funds had been raised for his medical expenses.

At the time of disconnection, the room was filled with peace and love, with the presence of his wife Evelyn, his parents, and close friends. "Andrew's spirit is free, surrounded by light and love," Spooner shared.

The tragic incident occurred while Andrew was returning home after filming in Utah for his YouTube channel, when his vehicle was struck by another at high speed, resulting in a severe brain injury. His wife, Evelyn Cruz, reported the situation through the Desert Drifter channel, highlighting the severity of the injury.

The driver of the other vehicle, Ragnar Nickolas Kristl, faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol, while it is also being investigated whether he had consumed drugs.
