Brent Hill from Massachusetts almost does not remember the moments preceding the crash that occurred on December 16. At the time of driving, he reportedly lost consciousness, and he felt his creation disappear. The Apple Watch he wore on his wrist played a key role, calling for help after his car collided with a neighbor's garage and fell into a basement.
"I didn't even know something was happening, and when I saw my car skidding off the road and breaking apart, my mind was racing, with which I was moving," Hill said.
Video recordings from a neighbor's camera show how Hill's car speeds towards their garage, and then down their basement, where it plunges into water. According to data from WesternMassNews, it is suggested that Hill had his foot on the gas pedal after losing consciousness, increasing the speed of the vehicle.
After he was pulled from the basement, Hill was treated in a hospital for minor injuries. It is also noted that the rescuers took only a few minutes to arrive.
Neighbor Elizabeth Labrad-Appelquist recounted that her husband was upstairs, and he immediately called 911, explaining the situation. "Rescuers tried to stabilize the man because he said that water was starting to seep inside the vehicle," she said.
The Crash Detection feature on the Apple Watch automatically called emergency services, one of the dispatchers tried to connect with Hill to learn about his condition.
