According to official figures released by the U.S. Department of Commerce, between January and August 2025, the US sold goods to Mexico worth $226 billion, equivalent to 15.8% of all its exports. In August alone, shipments totaled $29 billion. According to the report, Mexico is the top market for 24 U.S. productive sectors and the second market for another 50. Overall, the country ranks as the number one or number two buyer in 75% of all U.S. export industries. The sectors where Mexico stands out as the primary buyer include grains, electronics, iron and steel, auto parts, vehicles, machinery, and energy. This reflects the deep productive integration between the two countries, encompassing complete value chains, from basic inputs to advanced manufacturing.
