Stellantis plans to launch the new Ram 2500 and 3500 models in the United States in the first quarter of the year and in the first half in Mexico, with a price of around 47,560 dollars in the U.S., representing an increase of 2,300 dollars compared to their predecessors. The company's intention is to reverse three consecutive years of declining sales for the brand, according to El Financiero contributor, José Perales.
Stellantis announced the redesign of the Ram Heavy Duty pickup truck, which will be assembled at its plant in Saltillo, Coahuila. The company has been facing a reduction in profits due to a 15 percent decrease in total vehicle deliveries in 2024. To regain market share in the U.S., Stellantis has been working on price reductions, increasing incentives, and addressing deficiencies in its product line.
Doug Ostermann, Chief Financial Officer, indicated that Stellantis believes there is demand in the U.S. market for an affordable version of the Ram 1500 truck, after the "Ram Classic" version was discontinued last year. The company intends to introduce a low-end version of the new truck to fill that gap, although it will not be launched immediately.
Ram truck sales in the U.S., a major profit driver for Stellantis, fell by 16 percent last year. The company seeks to reactivate sales in this segment by shifting part of production to Mexico and planning launches of updated models in the market. In an effort to regain its market position, Stellantis continues to make adjustments to its production and pricing strategies to meet consumer demands.
