The International Organization for Migration faced a serious reduction in funding assistance from the USA. This prompted the need for urgent changes in the organization's strategy, which provides assistance to migrants and refugees from around the world.
The funding cuts triggered a sense of urgency within the organization as it affected key projects for the return of refugees to their home countries, as well as programs for the integration and support of migrants. In connection with this, IOM was forced to reconsider its priorities and focus on the most critically important tasks.
One of the main areas of the organization's work becomes ensuring the safe repatriation of migrants who need assistance for their return to their country after the end of conflicts or crisis situations. At the same time, IOM continues to address issues of supporting migrants in their new place of residence, providing them with necessary resources and assistance in adapting.
However, despite the complexity, with which IOM is faced due to funding cuts, the organization is not planning to cease its activities and is determined to continue helping those in need of migration assistance. A key goal for IOM remains to provide support and protection to migrants and refugees, regardless of changes in the external environment and financial pressure.
