The Government of the United States has managed to reduce the consumer price index (CPI) in February to 2.8 percent year-on-year, which represents a decrease of two tenths compared to January. This news was announced during a press conference in the Oval Office by former President Donald Trump, who claimed that the moderation of inflation is due to the actions of his Administration.

During the press conference, Trump highlighted that the price of oil has fallen to 65 dollars per barrel, a figure lower than expected. He also mentioned that his Government has managed to reduce the price of eggs in the country, which had skyrocketed due to outbreaks of avian influenza. According to Trump, they have accelerated the process to control inflation and stabilize prices.

On the other hand, Brazil's egg exports to the United States increased by 57 percent in February, reaching 2,527 tons. This increase is mainly due to strong U.S. demand and the significant 93.4 percent increase in exports to this country. These figures make the United States the second largest customer of Brazilian eggs, only behind the United Arab Emirates.

In addition to the United States, Brazil's egg sales also increased in Japan, Mexico, and Angola. Despite the high inflation rates experienced in both the United States and Brazil, the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) pointed out that egg exports represent less than 1 percent of the total production of the country, so their impact on internal prices is limited.

In summary, Trump takes credit for the decrease in inflation in the United States during February and highlights the reduction in oil and egg prices as achievements of his Government in the fight against rising prices.
