In his speech at the energy conference, the secretary emphasized that the U.S. energy strategy should aim to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and transition to clean energy sources. "We must strive for zero-emission electricity production from fossil fuels by the middle of the century," he added.
Moreover, Wright stated the need for infrastructure upgrades to improve the country's energy system. "We must invest in transmission networks to ensure the ability to integrate renewable energy," Mr. Wright said.
