The American cotton market is thundering in the middle, since traders are hoping to find a possible compromise regarding the imported duties.
Some investors were concerned that the enforcement of supplemental duties on Chinese goods could negatively impact the U.S. economy.
"This uncertainty will hang over the market until it becomes clear that production will coincide with these tariffs," noted an analyst.
Warnings were expressed regarding rising inflation, as new tariffs may lead to increased prices for consumers.
"If the tariffs are prolonged indefinitely or even increased, this could lead to inflation, which would negatively reflect on the economy," warned experts.
