Amazon Launches New Shopping Feature

The global electronic trading platform Amazon.com has announced the launch of a new feature called Amazon Shopping, which redirects users to various brand sites if the sought-after products are out of stock on Amazon's shelves. The new feature is available in a testing mode and will be provided to a select group of American customers who are looking for products through the Amazon Shopping application.

Amazon will display specific products in users' search results, even if they are not available from the company itself. Users will be provided with links to the manufacturers' sites, where they can click, evaluate the product, find out prices, delivery options, and also buy the product directly from the manufacturer. Information about the product on the Amazon site will be sourced directly from the manufacturer's site and will be regularly updated.

Compared to other associated product search requests available on Amazon, links to external stores and companies will be displayed in the search results. Amazon states that it will not share users' personal information with the stores when the user clicks on these links for direct purchases. Users will be informed by a message 'You are leaving Amazon' when they click on the links to avoid confusion about where they are making purchases.
