Stocks on the American market rose on Tuesday during the first trading sessions under the new U.S. President Donald Trump. As reported by Reuters, the major U.S. indices gained ground despite previous declines caused by concerns about political instability ahead of the midterm elections.
One of the factors driving the growth is investor confidence that a tighter win for Joe Biden in the Senate elections will likely strengthen fiscal support for the economy.
"The Democrats' control over the Senate even reinforces the prospects for investors in 2021," commented David Kelly, chief strategist of investments at JP Morgan Asset Management.
The Dow Jones index rose by 0.2 percent, the S&P 500 by 0.7 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite by 1.6 percent.
