The US Department of Justice has over a million documents related to Jeffrey Epstein but missed the legal deadline for their release, citing the need for more review time. Publication of the materials began last week.

US DOJ Delays Release of Epstein Documents

Congress passed the 'Epstein Files Transparency Act' with near-unanimous approval last month, which President Donald Trump signed into law. The act stipulates the release of all Epstein-related files by December 19. Washington - AFP - The US Department of Justice announced it possesses over a million other documents potentially linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, stating it is reviewing them before publication. However, the Department of Justice did not meet this deadline. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch justified the delay by citing the need for more time to review the documents. Last week, the Department of Justice began releasing documents and photos from the Epstein investigation. This wealthy financier died in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking with underage girls.
