President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a tense exchange during a meeting at the White House, leading to the cancellation of a press conference and discussions on a minerals agreement.

Tense Meeting Between Trump and Zelensky

Former President Donald Trump addressed reporters as he left the White House to head to Florida over the weekend. In an interview with Fox News, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that he would not apologize to Trump for the recent confrontation between the two parties. Zelensky expressed the importance of transparency and honesty in the relationship between both countries, although he acknowledged that verbal conflicts are not beneficial for either side.

The press conference scheduled at the White House for the signing of a bilateral agreement on minerals was canceled due to the tension generated during the meeting in the Oval Office between Trump and Zelensky, which culminated in the abrupt departure of the Ukrainian leader. According to a source from the White House, Trump is not interested in resuming the minerals agreement at this time.

Regarding possible future talks, Trump dismissed the possibility of meeting in person with Zelensky after the tense encounter at the White House. The U.S. president stated that Zelensky wanted to leave immediately, indicating a clear lack of willingness on Trump's part for immediate dialogue.
