The White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, confirmed that the White House received more than ten thousand requests for the position of "new media" after the announcement of a new policy allowing content creators on platforms like podcasts and TikTok to apply for press credentials. During the press briefing at the White House, the first question was raised by the host of a political podcast, who occupied the related content creator seat.

In her statement, Karine Jean-Pierre said: "We may expect this room to be larger soon," referring to the large number of requests that were submitted.
