Trump Dismisses Concerns Over Chinese Tariffs

After the additional 10% tariffs imposed by Washington on Chinese products went into effect on February 10, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he was not worried about the 10% and 15% tariffs that China decided to impose on certain imported products from the U.S. Trump claimed that the nation is being respected again at a level not seen in decades. He emphasized that he would talk with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the right time, without rushing.

Trump delayed tariffs against Canada and Mexico for a month, but the 10% tariffs on Chinese imports remained in place and took effect. Beijing responded with selective tariffs affecting products such as oil, liquefied gas, machinery, and large-displacement vehicles. Additionally, he announced an investigation against Google and export controls on critical minerals.

In remarks from the Oval Office, Trump mentioned that the Biden administration is using American money to strengthen its military, criticizing that it has allowed this situation. He highlighted that they are currently doing well with countries that no one expected to succeed, taking advantage of Biden's management.

"The good news is that we're doing very well", concluded President Trump.
