Representatives from a moving company and lawyers were scheduled to visit Rudy Giuliani's apartment in Manhattan on Thursday, as the former New York mayor failed to deliver several belongings to two former election workers from Georgia. These two women won a defamation lawsuit against him for a total of 148 million dollars.
District Judge Lewis Liman had ordered Giuliani to hand over many of his most valuable possessions to the election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss. Although Giuliani filed an appeal that is currently being reviewed by a federal court in Washington. His spokesperson, Ted Goodman, mentioned that Giuliani is being unfairly punished by partisan political activists.
Amid the dispute, there is discussion about whether Giuliani should relinquish his 3 million dollar condominium in Palm Beach, Florida, and several Yankees World Series rings. These demands arose as a consequence of Giuliani's false allegations of electoral fraud against Freeman and Moss, whom he accused of manipulating the 2020 presidential elections.
Freeman and Moss, who sued for defamation, stated that Giuliani's false accusations put them in danger and subjected them to death threats. For their part, Giuliani's legal team has called for donations to fight against what they call "Deep State plans to ruin him completely."
One of the lawyers for the election workers stated that they had not received indications on how the delivery of the belongings would be carried out. Judge Liman had set a deadline for the delivery of the assets, and both parties must present a status report by next Monday.
