Three luxury real estate brothers found guilty of sex trafficking

Three brothers Alexander, two of them known luxury real estate agents in Miami and New York, were found guilty on Monday of all charges against them in a trial for abuse and sex trafficking by a United States court. A federal court jury in the Southern District of New York, in Manhattan, found Tal and Oren Alexander, high-end real estate brokers, and Alon Alexander, who did not work in the sector, guilty of all federal sex crimes they were charged with, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. The jury's decision leaves the door open for them to face life in prison when the final sentence is handed down on August 6. The jury's verdict comes a month after the start of the brothers' trial in which eleven women testified and accused them of rape or sexual assault. The jury saw the Alexander brothers' conduct for what it was: a calculated and brutal sexual abuse that, unimaginably, the defendants celebrated», added. The brothers were arrested in December 2024 in the southern part of Florida after a series of sexual abuse accusations committed since 2010. Among other things, they were accused of organizing national and international events and trips in order to use them as bait to recruit, attract, and transport multiple women, whom they then raped. Some victims testified that they were drugged to be unable to resist the rape. Jay Clayton, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, stated that this decision is «an important step in the fight against sex trafficking». «The verdict comes after a several-week trial in which the evidence and testimony from 11 brave victims demonstrated that the Alexander brothers conspired to lure, drug, and repeatedly rape young women. These are chilling, reprehensible, and unacceptable acts,» assured Clayton in a statement. The prosecutor praised «the courage» of the victims and applauded them for daring to relive the abuse they suffered «to prevent other people from becoming victims». «We also congratulate the New York jury for their attention, care, and commitment to our judicial system».
