According to a survey published by the polling agency Gallup, Donald Trump's initial approval rating as President of the United States stands at 47%, while 48% of American adults disapprove of his performance as leader. This rating is similar to the 45% approval he received at the beginning of his first term (2017-2021) and is below those of all other U.S. presidents since 1953, according to the survey.
Despite these numbers, the Republican magnate has a 46% approval rating among independent voters compared to his first term, representing an increase of 6 percentage points. On the other hand, outgoing President Democrat Joe Biden (2021-2025) entered the White House with a 57% approval rating, and upon leaving, his approval rating was 40%.
The survey highlights the contrast between the beginnings of the terms of Trump and Biden, showing how both presidents were perceived by public opinion at the start and end of their respective presidencies.
